DATTATREYA JAYANTHI POOJA
Tuesday, 13th December 2016
6 pm (Degree of Harmonious Love/Union)
STDVM Hall, Kota Damansara
The auspicious Dattatreya Jayanthi day of blessings will be celebrated at the Malaysian Centre and all Simha Giri Kulam members, their families and friends are welcome to participate.
Please listen to the message from the leaf reading about this Pooja or read the English translation transcript below.
The Pooja will begin at 6pm and will go on until approximately 8.30 pm, followed by dinner. For students outside Malaysia, Skype access to view this Pooja is being organised and information on this will be available from the respective Heads of Centre.
Sangu Abhishegam
The Pooja will also include a special ‘Sangu Abhishegam’. This is an auspicious ceremony where conch shells are filled with Abhishegam water and poured onto the Shiva Lingga/Dattatreya as an offering. We will be using the Valampuri Sangu (a particular type of conch shell), for this Abhishegam. There are ample sources online for you to read up on the uniqueness of this particular type of conch shell, but one of them is that it is believed that the water in the conch shell holds the vibration of mantras being chanted and your creation, when kept at the altar, and the water is sipped daily after prayers.
However, only 108 conch shells will be used for this Abhishegam. Students who purchase them may receive them after the Pooja. As such, it is on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.
Offering of Lotuses
You are welcome to bring as many lotuses as you wish to offer to Lord Dattatreya. All registered participants will have three lotuses prepared for them at the Centre at no extra cost. Do advise early if you wish to purchase additional lotuses (3 stalks @ RM5).
For registered participants outside Malaysia, the three lotuses will be offered to Lord Dattatreya on your behalf.
Avadhuta Gita Book
Please let us know if you are interested to buy the Avadhuta Gita so the necessary arrangements can be made.

9 November 2016
Transcript - Agasthiyar Siddhar’s Aasi-Negandu Palan (Leaf Reading)
9 November 2016
Bowing to Agasthiyar, the reading begins.
On 9 November 2016, the current-prasanna-aasi palan leaf is being
read and explained. Bowing to the feet of God Almighty, Agasthiyar
Maharishi begins to speak the aasi kandam negandu palan leaf. This leaf
is for the Simha Giri Kulam (The Giri Order/sanggha). There are
complete/total blessings also upon those students who are with/on the
side of the Master. We are with you, bestowing blessings for everyone to
live out their yogams and to live with manggalanggal
(beauty/auspiciousness).
As our guidance, sight and compassion are all upon you, for this
Sanggha, diverse/many/multiple yogams, expansion/growth/elevation is
present. For this Kulam (Sanggha), maari maari
(changing/diverse/evolving) growth and heights/progress will happen.
There is no lack in the yogams.
There is forthcoming, the victorious and grand Dattatreya Pooja. This
coming Dattatreya Pooja, will be a festival, a Siddhar festival - at
this festival for Dattatreya, offer poorana (complete/total/clear)
prayer ceremonies & prayer offerings at sayanggalam (sunset).
At that time, the Master will be in the form of Dattatreya. Seeing
the Master as Dattatreya, all disciples that have come should
surrender/bow, touch the Master’s feet and pray/worship. At that time
they will receive malar aasi (flower blessings). Master will bestow aasi
(blessings) with flowers.
All the students and disciples coming on that day, should offer lotus
flowers (1, 2, 3 or any quantity they wish) and samarpanam
(offer/dedicate) the flowers to Dattatreya and do valipadu
(pray/worship).
This is a tavaamaana naal (meditative/tavas day) to receive the Tava
Nool (Tavas Book/Avadhuta Gita book). Those who have bought and those
who haven’t bought, receiving the book from Master’s hands (on that day)
is an immensely tavamaana naal (dharmic and immensely meditative day).
That day is an immensely dharmic and tavas day. Whatever amount, which
has already been stated by the Siddhars for this book - pay that amount
as dakshina/Guru kanikkai (money offering) - those who have bought may
buy additional copies (it’s not wrong to do so), and those who haven’t
bought it can buy and pray, read and bow to the book, and this is a big
yogam. It is a grand thing, a grand bliss, and it is a day that bestows
immense/grand yogams.
On that day, the Master will take many avatharams
(manifestations/forms). It is a day many Avatars will come and go. The
Master who possesses Maha Sakthi (great powers), Maha Anugraham (great
blessings), Maha Aatral (great grace) and Maha Sulchamam (great
mysteries) - receiving the book on that day with the Master’s karam
(hand) touching it, is immensely auspicious. Those who haven’t received
the Tava Nool (Avadhuta Gita) should try to receive/buy it on this day …
it is a yogam, a day that bestows yogam.
All students should come and participate manggalamaga (auspiciously).
Make early announcements so that all can come and participate in the
auspicious prayer and do the pooja and pray and do the valimurai
(rituals) – it’s advisable/it’s good.
For all who come/participate, it is auspicious to give each one a
prasadam (token) of fruits, flowers, viboothi (holy ash), kungkumam,
sweet item ... They came and they must return not feeling that they left
empty-handed. Some fruit/flower/snack/sweet with the holy ash and
kungkumam must be given as a prasadam for participating in the
Dattatreya Pooja.
Whatever the expenses incurred to organise this pooja beautifully,
collect from all the students and disciples the funds required as a
dakshina (money offering) to decorate/beautify the event and to organise
the pooja grandly. And we have bestowed blessings for Dattatreya Pooja
to be held grandly and gorgeously (allagode poosai seyya aasi sonnom).
Give everyone the prasadam, give everyone the opportunity to come and
bow/pray, and make the announcement of the event in advance.
By participating in this pooja for Dattatreya and bowing/praying to
the Master, everyone will be bestowed with thidamaana nilai (a strong
state of being), thidamaana yogam (strong yogams), thidamaana vetri
(strong victory). All will be content/fulfilled, come to clarity,
happiness/bliss, pooranam (completion/totality), peace and calmness,
increase of arul and porul balam (strength of grace and fortune), and
attain to aanantha nilai (blissful state). It is filled with the
miraculous and wonderments, which are awaiting you all. Participate and
receive the blessings.
Because Agastiyar’s aasi (blessings) is filled upon this pooja, there will be immense joy/bliss and yogams over pouring on that day.
