In Hindu astrology, Jupiter (Guru), is deemed as one of the most powerful planets. Guru generally stays in a rasi (sign), for about 12 months. The transit of Guru from one rasi to another is refered/referred to as Guru Peyarchi in Tamil.

Guru's transit is deemed to have a significant impact on one’s life as Guru is attributed to expressing the qualities of abundance, freedom, growth and fertility; broadening of horizons and relief from restraints.

This year, according to Krishnamurti Panchangam (Tamil calendar), the Guru Peyarchi happens on 2nd September 2017, where/when Jupiter moves from Kanni (Virgo) Rasi to Thula (Libra) Rasi.

To mark this occasion, The Society for the Teachings of Dhyan Vimal, will be celebrating Guru Peyarchi Yagam - Jupiter Transit Homa festival with Yagam, Abishegam, Pooja and offerings.
